NCDC: Reception and Lounge

Architecture and Interior design

A National Level organization, NCDC, was looking to get complete renovations for their VIP lounge area, and construction of a reception.
As the area allocated for the reception was in the building foyer (over 30 years old), an innovative concept was used to break the shackles of both its confined location and outdated surroundings. Tensile fabric stretched over steel members over a concrete flooring, gave the desired modern and elegant look for the visitors. Smart space usage led to the creation of ample waiting area. The MS columns powder coated in white, were attached to LED strips which lit up the entire structure in the evening. To break away from the heaviness of the entire building, this light structure not only fit seamlessly in the space, but was also unique attracting awe from all.
While re-designing the lounge, the color orange was primarily used, having known to increase appetite. As the location of the lounge was on the topmost floor, the windows were stripped off their curtains. making the beautiful views visible and lots of sunlight to filter through thus lighting up the place. The wooden cladding on the window sills were extended to become countertops, where people could now sit and enjoy a cup of coffee while sinking in the views. Wooden panels, and concealed strip lighting was used, and the logo of the organization was used as an accenting element.
